Springside Chestnut Hill Academy freshman and Chestnut Hill native Jackson Erdos took home top prize in the Championship round of American Ninja Warrior Jr., in the 13-14 age group.
With a time of 25.50 seconds, he passed Phil Folsom in a rematch from the semifinals. Folsom had a time of 28.86 seconds.
Though he was eliminated in the Semifinals on Nov. 25, he was chosen as a wildcard for a rematch in the Championship season 3 finale, which streamed on Peacock December 9. The Champion title comes with $15,000 in prize money and an opportunity to demonstrate his mental toughness and physical prowess when he competes as an adult in the spring taping of America Ninja Warrior.
The Junior version, in its third year, is divided into three age categories: 9-10; 11-12; and Erdos’s group, 13-14. Erdos, 14, raced a total of 10 times over the course of Season 3 and beat 31 other contestants before winning in the final round of competition. He set a new speed record in the first round of Quarterfinals, aired Nov. 18, coming in at 25.47.
