Tim Beckham and Judy Morgan

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, The Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill will host Tim Beckham and Judy Morgan, who will present a slideshow on climate change, focusing particularly on the “Green New Deal” Resolution passed by the House of Representative early this year. The latest scientific research has resulted in calls for a rapid drop in fossil fuel use – 45% by 2030 and 100% by 2050. How can we meet this challenge? The speakers will include both broad national strategies and what individuals can do to help in this effort.

The Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill Speaker Series events take place on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave.

Tim Beckham is a retired, independent businessman. He has two children and five grandchildren, and has become deeply concerned about their futures in the face of unrestrained use of fossil fuels. To bring that issue more into the public light, Tim is developing presentations on various climate change topics to present to any and all groups willing to listen. Judy Morgan is a retired environmental educator who worked at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and has been active in a number of climate and social justice issues in the Philadelphia area.
