The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from May 4 to May 11, 2020.
Please note the dates in bold listed below are when the crimes occurred, not when they were reported.
May 8. Aggravated assault on the7600 block of Stenton Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Complainant stated that he was meeting someone he met on eBay to buy a 2017 Honda Accord. The man said when he arrived on location, four men approached him and asked if he had the money for the car. The complainant said that three of the offenders had guns. The complainant attempted to flee in his vehicle when offenders fired shots at him. The complainant was shot once in the back. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. The complainant is still in possession of cash.
May 9. Theft from vehicle on Valley Green Road. No time of day listed. Complainants 1 and 2 went for a walk in the park. When they returned to complainant 1’s vehicle, they discovered the passenger’s side window was broken and the following items were taken from the vehicle: 1 Kate Spade purse, containing earrings, necklace and one wallet: credit cards, driver’s license, and cash; 1 Coach Bag, credit cards, driver’s license and cash.
Summary: Two crimes for the week – One aggravated assault and one theft from vehicle.
