The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 3 to Aug. 9, 2020.
Aug. 5. Theft from vehicle. 7900 block of Stenton Ave. A woman told police someone had smashed her driver’s and passenger’s side windows and stole her handclapped placard. Damage estimated worth $500.
Aug. 5 Theft. 9000 block of Crefeld St. A man told police someone stole two rolling recycling cans worth $100 from his property.
Aug. 6 Theft. 8200 block of Germantown Ave. A man told police that he had left his wedding ring on a kitchen windowsill. When he returned, it was missing. While there was no sign of forced entry, a painting company had been painting in his home. Ring is valued at $3,500.
Aug 7 Theft. 400 block of W. Chestnut Hill Ave. A man told police a package of auto parts was delivered to his home and taken from his front steps. Package contents were worth $1,659.
Aug 7. Theft. 8200 Block of Germantown Ave. A woman told police that someone who had spent the night with her had taken her purse containing various ID, debit cards, jewelry and $1,300 in cash. Total value of items stolen is $4,000.
Aug. 7 Theft. 7700 block of Crittenden St. A man was seen by a witness stuffing deodorant, shaving cream and razors into his pants before leaving the store without paying. He was said to have left on a silver mountain bike. Items taken were worth $247.
