The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period between Mar. 29 to April 4. Some dates earlier than the current period took place at that date and reported after the fact.
Chestnut Hill
Mar. 30 Theft from vehicle at Valley Green. A woman returned to her vehicle to find that the front passenger side window was smashed and her purse taken. The purse, worth $200, reportedly contained $4,910 in cash, $600 in gift cards, ID and other credit cards. The woman reported a credit card was used to make $1,600 in purchases at Game Stop.
Mt. Airy
Mar. 28 Aggravated assault on the 100 block of W. Gorgas La. A man told police that he got into an argument over living arrangements with a roommate of three months. The roommate threatened him with a hammer and threw a boot at him, striking him above the right eye, which left abrasions above the eye and on his forehead.
