Crime Report: 4 thefts from cars, 1 aggravated assault

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period between Mar.8 to Mar. 14

Chestnut Hill

Mar. 10 Theft from vehicle on Valley Green Road. A woman parked her car at the location and returned to find her rear driver-side window smashed. Taken from her car was a North Face backpack containing a laptop. Combined value was listed at $1,100.

Mar. 10 Theft from vehicle on Valley Green Road. A woman parked her car at the location and returned to find her rear driver-side window smashed. Taken was a purse containing $525 in cash.

Mar. 14 Theft from vehicle, Northwestern Ave. and Forbidden Dr. A woman told police she parked her vehicle at the location. When she returned, she found her front passenger-side window was shattered and several items were taken: A leather carry-all bag containing driver's license, credit cards, $200 in gift cards, a pair of sunglasses and $100 in cash.

 Mt. Airy

Mar. 13 Theft from vehicle on the 300 block of E. Mt. Airy Ave. A woman reported her vehicle was entered and ransacked. An unspecified number of items were taken that were worth approximately $1,400. There was no sign of forced entry.

Mar. 14 Aggravated assault/domestic abuse. A man told police a woman he knows stabbed him with a knife. The woman’s mother told police her daughter and the complainant were fighting over the knife and that her daughter got control of the knife and stabbed the man in the arm.
