The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 17 to Aug. 23, 2020.
Aug. 18 Theft from vehicle on 100 block of W. Highland Avenue. A woman reported that someone removed the catalytic converter from her 2008 Prius. Part is valued at $2,979.
Aug. 21 Shoplifting at 8400 block of Germantown Ave. Police arrested a woman who stole approximately $60 worth of goods from a retail shop.
Aug. 20 Police captured a shopper identified by a store owner of stealing a wallet for sale. Item was not recovered but shop owner declined to press charges.
Aug 22. Theft at Acme, 7700 Crittenden Street. Store security captured video footage of a man placing merchandise under his shirt and leaving without paying. Taken from store were men’s and women’s Dove deodorant and shaving razors worth $332.71
Aug. 22. Theft from vehicle on unit Block Woodale Ave. Man reported his truck parked on the block was ransacked and items taken. No list given to police.
