The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Nov. 6-Nov. 13. 

Chestnut Hill

Nov. 6 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their vehicle going missing after parking it on the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue.

Nov. 7 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported her car window being smashed after she parked it near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on the 200 block of West Northwestern Avenue. A coat, credit cards and a laptop were stolen.

Nov. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported her car window being smashed after she parked it near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near Valley Green Road. Cash was stolen.

Nov. 10 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported her car window being smashed after she parked it near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near Bells Mill Road. Credit cards and a driver’s license was stolen.

Nov. 12 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported her car window being smashed after she parked it on the 500 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. A wallet was stolen, but later recovered with items missing.

Nov. 13 A complainant, who is also the manager of the CVS located on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue, said that an offender left the store with approximately $300 worth of cleaning products he did not pay for. 

Mt. Airy 

Sept. 2 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his vehicle going missing after parking it on the 400 block of Pleasant Street.

Oct. 28 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the license plate being stolen from his vehicle, which was parked on the 500 block of West Sedgwick Street.

Nov. 1 Vandalism of property. A complainant reported somebody breaking into their car, which was parked at the corner of Emlen and Upsal Streets, and destroying the steering column. Nothing was taken. 

Nov. 6 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their vehicle, which was parked on the 400 block of East Sedgwick Street.

Nov. 6 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their vehicle going missing after parking it on the 6600 block of Ardleigh Street.

Nov. 7 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their vehicle going missing after parking it on the 300 block of East Hortter Street.

Nov. 9 Theft. A complainant reported her wallet going missing after holding a gathering at her home, which is located on the 6700 block of Musgrave Street.

Nov. 10 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her vehicle going missing after parking it on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue.

Nov. 11 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his vehicle going missing after parking it on the unit block of East Springer Street.

Nov. 11 A complainant reported their car window being smashed while parked on the 100 block of East Pomona Street. Clothes and cash were stolen and the car's side mirror, windshield, driver’s seat, touch screen and center console were all damaged.

Nov. 11 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported their vehicle going missing after parking it on the 6900 block of Ardleigh Street.

Nov. 13 Burglary. A complainant called the police when she witnessed a man enter her house through a back window. As the offender was leaving, he was placed in custody.
