The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from Oct. 31-Nov. 7.
Chestnut Hill
Oct. 31 Shoplifting. Nearly $150 worth of Listerine, shampoo and laundry items were stolen from the CVS on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue. Police encountered the offender when he fled on foot, after which the offender dropped the merchandise and fled into the woods. The items were returned to the store.
Nov. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot at Valley Green and Wolcott Drives reported their car window being shattered. A wallet was stolen from the car.
Nov. 5 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off their vehicle, which was parked on the 100 block of Benezet Street.
Nov. 6 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot at Valley Green and Wolcott Drives reported their car window being shattered. Cash and a handbag was stolen from the car.
Mt. Airy
Oct. 31 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported his car being stolen from the 6700 block of Stenton Avenue.
Oct 31 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having her car ransacked while it was parked on the 7000 block of Greene Street. $8 in change was stolen and there was no damage.
Nov. 2 Theft. A complainant reported having a package stolen from his house, located on the 300 block of Pelham Road.
Nov. 3 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported her car being stolen from the 500 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue.
Nov. 3 Burglary. A complainant reported having multiple items, including a TV and clothes, stolen from her property located on the 200 block of West Upsal Street.
Nov. 4 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off her vehicle, which was parked on the 500 block of Arbutus Street.
Nov. 4 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his vehicle, which was parked on the 6600 block of Lincoln Drive.
Nov. 5 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported someone breaking into their car, which was parked on the 800 block of Vernon Road, and stealing $18,000 worth of goods, including a gold ring, boxing gloves and clothes.
Nov. 5 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off her vehicle, which was parked on the 6400 block of Greene Street.
Nov. 5 Theft. A complainant reported that her babysitter stole and used a $100 Target gift card while she was in her house, located on the 6900 block of Lincoln Drive.
