The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period from Aug. 22 to 28.

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the two-week period from Aug. 22 to 28. Some crimes that occurred earlier than the current period were reported after the fact.

Chestnut Hill

Aug. 18 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car being broken into while parked in the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen. The car window was smashed.

Aug. 22 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car being broken into while parked in the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A wallet, purse and cash was stolen. The car window was smashed.

Aug. 23 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant reported witnessing two offenders steal a motorbike from his porch on his ring camera.

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car being broken into while parked in the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. Credit cards, cash and an ID was stolen. The car window was smashed.

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a backpack stolen from her car while it was parked on the unit block of East Bells Mill Road. 

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a purse, wallet and credit cards stolen from her car while it was parked on the unit block of West Bells Mill Road. 

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who left her car unlocked at the corner of Lincoln Drive and West Abington Avenue returned to her vehicle to find her purse stolen and a $425 charge on her credit card. 

Aug. 24 A complainant reported having two bikes stolen from his property on the 8400 block of Shawnee Street. 

Aug. 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car being broken into while parked in the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. A watch, purse, cash and a bookbag was stolen. The car window was smashed.

Aug. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car being broken into while parked in the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road. Cash, clothes and an iPad were stolen. The car window was smashed.

Aug. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a bag, cell phone and credit cards stolen from her car after the window was smashed while it was parked on the unit block of West Bells Mill Road. 

Aug. 28 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having a purse stolen from her car after the window was smashed while it was parked on the 700 block of Cornelia Place. 

Mt. Airy

May 29 Theft. A complainant reported her wedding band went missing after her daughter held a party at her house on the 200 block of East Phil Ellena Street.

Aug. 19 Rape. A complainant reported beginning what was initially consensual sex with a man on the 6600 block of Greene Street, but when she tried to stop the activity midway he forced her.  The man then refused to return her clothes. 

Aug. 21 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported his car window being smashed on the 200 block of West Upsal Street. An insurance and registration card was stolen. 

Aug, 21 Theft. A complainant reported their bike being stolen from their shed, located on the 7400 block of Devon Street. The complainant later found the bike for sale on Offer Up. 

Aug. 23 Theft from motor vehicle. Two car windows were smashed while parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Livezey Lane. Items, including a passport, two purses and an insurance card were stolen.

Aug. 23 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen from their car, which was parked on the 200 block of East Cliveden Street.

Aug. 23 Burglary. A complainant from the Valley Green Inn, located on Valley Green Road inside Wissahickon Park, reported an offender breaking into the restaurant and stealing $500 worth of liquor. 

Aug. 24 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the 300 block of West Durham Street. 

Aug. 24 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the 7000 block of McCallum Street. 

Aug. 24 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported someone pointing a gun at him and threatening to “blow [his] head off” in the aftermath of a road rage incident. The altercation happened on the corner of Germantown Avenue and West Upsal Street. 

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed while it was parked on the 6800 block of Lincoln Drive. About $3 worth of change was stolen. 

Aug. 24 Theft from motor vehicle. Two complainants reported having their car window smashed while parked on the 400 block of West Hortter Street. Items, including an iPad, were stolen. 

Aug. 25 Theft from motor vehicle. Two car windows were smashed while parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance on Livezey Lane. Items, including a purse, wallet, keys and a social security card, were stolen. 

Aug. 25 Theft. A complainant reported a package being stolen from his porch, located on the 300 block of East Upsal Street.

Aug. 25 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported an offender’s unsuccessful attempt at stealing the catalytic converter off his car, which was parked on the 7000 block of McCallum Street. 

Aug. 25 Theft of motor vehicle parts. A complainant reported the catalytic converter being stolen off his car, which was parked on the 500 block of Burnham Road. 

Aug. 26 Motor vehicle theft. A complainant who was delivering food to a house on the 200 block of Phil Ellena Street reported having his car stolen by two men, one of which wielded a gun.

Aug. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed while parked on the 8000 block of Lincoln Drive. A pair of Chanel sunglasses was stolen. 

Aug. 27 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant reported having his car window smashed while parked on the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue. A pair of sne3+akers was stolen. 

Aug. 27 Robbery. A complainant who was sitting in her vehicle parked on the 500 block of East Johnson Street reported an offender coming up to her, pointing a gun at her and ordering her to give up her purse. The offender and an accomplice fled after she handed it over.

Aug 27 Theft. A complainant asked somebody inside of Bethesda Court, located on the 6200 block of Ardleigh Street, to watch her purse. When she got her purse back, $80 was missing. 

Aug. 28 Theft. A complainant who works for a moving company stated that a customer refused to pay the company upon the completion of her move into a house on the 7300 block of Germantown Avenue. She also refused to open her door when police arrived.
