The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from July 25-31. 

Chestnut Hill

July 23 Theft. The manager of The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living facility located on the 400 block of Abington Avenue, reported that an offender stole medication from a medication cart.

July 24 Theft. A complainant reported that Amazon said her package was delivered to her home on the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane despite her Ring camera not showing the delivery. 

July 25 Theft from motor vehicle. Complainant parked her car on Kitchens Lane near Wissahickon Avenue and returned to find a window smashed, and a pink bookbag, a wallet and various cards stolen. 

July 25 Theft from motor vehicle. Complainant parked her car on the unit block of West Bells Mill Road and returned to find the rear passenger window smashed and a coach purse and apple ear pods stolen. 

July 26 Aggravated Assault. Police were called to Chestnut Hill Hospital when a patient showed up in the emergency room with seven superficial “slash” wounds to the left side of his back, the back of his neck, his right underarms and right side of his head. Patient said it happened in Philadelphia but was “uncooperative” with further details. 

July 27 Theft. Complainant was in Chestnut Hill Hospital for surgery, and reported that upon returning to his room at 2:pm his gold plated watch was missing. 

July 30 Theft from motor vehicle. Complainant parked their car on the 7100 block of Valley Green Road and came back to find the rear passenger side window was smashed and a $1,500 laptop was stolen. 

Mt. Airy 

July 25 Burglary. A complainant reported finding his home’s door ajar with copper pipes missing from inside. The incident occurred on the 6600 block of Lincoln Drive.

July 25 Aggravated assault. A complainant reported being shot at with a BB gun while walking his dog on the unit block of West Upsal Street. The vehicle drove away, came back, and a passenger got out and shot him with what was possibly an orbeez gun. The complainant was uninjured. 

July 25 Theft. A CVS employee reported an offender stealing a Lasko box fan from the CVS located on the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue.

July 25 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near Kitchens Lane returned to their car to find their window broken and items, including a wallet and credit cards, stolen. 

July 25 Theft of motor vehicle tag. The license plate was stolen off a car parked on the 6600 block of Chew Avenue. 

July 25 Theft. A complainant reported his wallet being stolen on the 6400 block of Greene Street. 

July 26 Theft. A complainant reported two offenders entering Asia Chinese Food restaurant, located on the 6600 block of Chew Avenue, destroying the casino game machine and removing the money container before fleeing. 

July 26 Theft from motor vehicle. A complainant who parked near the Wissahickon Trail entrance near Wayne Avenue returned to their car to find their window broken and items, including a passport and credit cards, stolen. 

July 27 Aggravated Assault. Complainant was driving up to his home on the 700 block of East Phil Ellena Street when his cousin drove up and shot at him while he was in his car. Complainant states the dispute involved family financial matters. 

July 27 Theft from motor vehicle. Complainant’s car parked their Toyota Rav 4 at 11 W. Phil Ellena Street and returned to find the catalytic converter stolen. 

July 27 Theft from motor vehicle. Complainant parked his 2008 BMW on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue, where an unknown person stole his license plate. 

July 29 Aggravated Assault. Complainant states that the offender came to her daycare at 27 W. Tulpehocken Street complaining about her child being put in a timeout. She then reached into her blue Ford focus and pulled out a black handgun, which she started waving at the complainant.
