The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy for the period from July 11-17. 

Chestnut Hill

July 10 Theft of auto parts. A complainant who parked his car at the corner of East Willow Grove Avenue and Crittenden Street reported his catalytic converter being stolen. 

July 10 Theft. A complainant reported that flowers planted along the 8500 block of Germantown Avenue had been stolen. 

July 11 Theft from auto. A complainant who parked his car near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road had his window smashed and items, including cash and a laptop, stolen. 

July 11 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing a man stuffing his pants with miscellaneous items inside the CVS Pharmacy on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and leaving the store without paying for them. 

July 12 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing a man steal items from the CVS Pharmacy on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and leave the store without paying for them. 

July 12 Shoplifting. An offender stole miscellaneous items, including ginger ale, pistachios and cleaning supplies, from the CVS Pharmacy on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and left the store without paying for them. The offender was identified and the items were returned. 

July 13 Theft from auto. Two complainants who parked their cars near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road had their car windows smashed and items, including an iPhone, makeup and a laptop, stolen. 

July 14 Theft from auto. A complainant who parked his car near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road had his car windows smashed and items, including an iPhone and a gun, stolen. 

July 16 Theft from auto. A complainant who parked her car near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Valley Green Road had her window smashed and items, including purses, a guitar and electronics, stolen. 

July 16 Theft from auto. A complainant reported her tablet being stolen out of her car, which was parked on the unit block of West Southampton Avenue, after her husband left her car unlocked. 

July 16 Theft from auto. Two complainants who parked their car near the corner of West Bells Mill Road and Orange Trail had their car windows smashed with items, including a wallet, a purse and a pair of glasses, stolen. 

July 17 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing a man steal Tide products from the CVS Pharmacy on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and leave the store without paying for them. 

July 17 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing a man steal various personal hygiene products from the CVS Pharmacy on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue and leave the store without paying for them. 

Mt. Airy 

July 11 Theft of auto parts. A complainant who parked his car on the 300 block of Pelham Road reported his catalytic converter being stolen. 

July 11 Theft from auto. A complainant who left her car unlocked on the unit block of East Gowen Avenue awoke to find items, including an iPhone, Ray-Ban glasses and liquor stolen from her car. 

July 11 Theft of auto parts. A complainant who parked his car on the 6600 block of Boyer Street reported his catalytic converter being stolen. 

July 11 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing two men leaving the Acme on the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue with items and not paying for them. The man was followed to a nearby Rite Aid by an Acme employee who called the police and had the men arrested.

July 11 Theft from auto. A complainant who parked her car near the Wissahickon Trail parking lot on Kitchens Lane and had her window smashed and items, including a pocketbook with a driver's license and cash, stolen. 

July 12 Aggravated assault. A complainant got into an argument on the unit block of East Cliveden Street with an offender over another person. The offender repeatedly put a black handgun to her head and told her he’d pistol whip her. The offender ended up punching her with a closed fist and strangling her. The offender also broke numerous items in the house including the bathroom window. 

July 12 Theft. A complainant’s gun went missing from under his bed. The home, located on the 100 block of East Upsal Street, shows no signs of forced entry.

July 12 Theft. A complainant who lives on the 100 block of West Durham Street reported three of her bicycles being stolen from her rear porch. The complainant found two of the bikes on Let Go, a website where people sell secondhand items. 

July 12 Theft of auto parts. A complainant who parked his car on the 200 block of Johnson Street reported his catalytic converter being stolen. 

July 13 Theft from auto. A complainant returned to her car to find items stolen from inside, including marijuana tablets and gift cards. The car was parked on the 7700 block of Lincoln Drive.

July 13 Burglary. A complainant who lives on the unit block of Pleasant Street reported an offender trying to break into his house through his kitchen door. When he opened the door, the offender took off running. 

July 13 Theft. A complainant noticed her firearm was missing from her home, located on the 6800 block of Emlen Street, one day after a visitor stayed the night. 

July 14 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing an offender steal deodorant from the Rite Aid Pharmacy on the 6200 block of Germantown Avenue.

July 14 Theft. A complainant had clothes stolen from his room in the Liberty Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, located on the 7300 block of Stenton Avenue, while he was in surgery. 

July 15 Theft. Five packages were stolen from an Amazon delivery van on the unit block of East Cliveden Street.

July 15 Theft of auto parts. A complainant who parked her car on the unit block of West Allens Lane reported her catalytic converter being stolen. 

July 15 Theft from auto. A complainant who parked his Dodge Ram on the 200 block of East Johnson Street returned to his vehicle to find the window smashed with items, including cash and a laptop, stolen. 

July 16 Auto theft. A complainant who parked his car on the unit block of Nippon Street returned to find it missing. 

July 16 Theft. A man and a woman stole items from the side of a house located on the 100 block of West Mt. Pleasant Avenue several days after standing outside the property and looking suspicious. 

July 17 Theft. Three males stole three cartons of cigarettes from a man making a cigarette delivery to the Wawa located on the 7200 block of Germantown Avenue. 

July 17 Shoplifting. A complainant reported seeing a man steal items from the CVS Pharmacy on the 7000 block of Lincoln Drive and leave the store without paying for them. The items were returned to the store after they were recovered at a nearby bus stop.
