Farley also confirmed 15 additional fatalities in Philadelphia, bringing the total number of city residents to have died from the disease since the pandemic began to 908. Of the 908 total deaths, Farley said 482 (53%) were long-term care facility residents.
Hospitals were seeing declining numbers of cases with 758 patients currently being treated in city hospitals and 1,432 hospitalized in the whole southeast Pennsylvania region.
Farley said that while the city was clearly improving, it was too early to talk about re-opening. He said people needed to prepare for going back out by getting used to wearing masks, keeping six feet apart and regularly washing their hands.
