Crime Report: One theft from vehicle and two thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Nov. 18 to Nov. 24, 2019. Please note the dates in bold listed below are when the crimes occurred, not when they were reported.

Nov. 21. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Ave. An employee for the Wine & Spirits store stated that two women came into the store, took two bottles of alcohol and left without paying. The women placed their items in their purse. Taken were two bottles of tequila valued at $77.74.

Nov. 22. Theft on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street. A man told police that a man put various items in his coat and attempted to cut off a security device, which activated the alarm. The witness told police that he tried to block the entrance but that the man pushed him out of the way and left the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries to the witness. The approximate value of stolen goods is $200.

Nov. 21. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Valley Green Road. A woman told police she parked her car on Valley Green Road around 1 p.m. and returned at 2:10 p.m. to find the rear driver’s side window broken and numerous items missing.
