On Monday, August 26, Margarete F. (Bühler) Schneider died peacefully at home, age 90. She was born in Manheim Germany on September 3, 1928. Margarete married Heinrich Schneider. They enjoyed a long and loving marriage and had two children. Margarete eventually moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, then Miami, Florida and finally Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. Margerete was a strong, compassionate, and thoughtful woman who cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She delighted in making everyone feel special; always remembering birthdays or ready with a sweet for the children. Margerete had a strong connection to nature that she expressed through a lifelong cultivation of flowers and appreciation of animals. She enjoyed walking through beautiful Chestnut Hill into her 90s. Margarete, affectionately known as Oma, is survived by her 2 brothers, Horst and Kurt, her children Doris and Günter, seven grandchildren Susanne, Vanessa, Edward, Stephanie, Erik, Jana, and Marvin and nine great grandchildren Isabella, Sofia, Gabriela, Anneliese, Maximilian, Sascha, Kai, Nela, and Aaron. Donations may be made in Margarete’s name to Morris Arboretum.
