Crime Report: Four burglaries, one theft and one theft from vehicle

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1, 2019.

Aug. 14. Burglary on the 9500 block of Wheel Pump Lane. A man told police that he left the property on Aug. 14 at approximately 2 p.m. and the property was normal. When he returned on Aug. 26 at 2 p.m., he noticed that two back doors had pry marks on them. Also, there was a broken window and pry marks on the back of the window. $900 of damage was done to the property.

Aug. 26. Burglary on the 400 block of W. Moreland Ave. Police responded to a report of a burglary. Once on site, police observed that an offender had forced open the rear door to the property. At the time of the report, it appeared that nothing was taken.

Aug. 27. Burglary on the 8100 block of Saint Martins Lane. A man told police that an unknown person broke into his property by forcing open the basement door. No report time listed. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Aug. 28. Theft from vehicle on the 600 block of Gatehouse Lane. A man told police that his car was parked in the driveway and his daughter left the doors unlocked. He told police that someone entered the vehicle sometime between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The man said the unknown person took $25 worth of loose change.

Aug. 30. Theft on the 7700 block of Crittenden St. The loss prevention officer at Acme stated that Noland Douglas, 49, of 4900 block of Oxford St., came into the market and took multiple packages of Xyzal caplets, Prilosec and Neosporin and passed all points of sale. The items are valued at $656.45. The man was stopped and held for police. Police arrested him and transported him to Northwest Detectives Unit (NWD).

Aug. 31. Burglary on the 200 block of E. Evergreen Ave. A man told police that he left the property at 4:30 p.m. He returned the next day to find the rear door open with the doorknob broken off. After walking through the property, he noticed approximately 100 ft. of cooper piping was taken from the basement.
