The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from May 20 to May 26, 2019.
May 20. Theft on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. A Chestnut Hill Hospital employee told police that an unknown person took $23 from her pocketbook that had been placed in her unsecured locker sometime between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on May 17.
May 20. Theft on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street at approximately 7 p.m. The security guard at Acme told police that an unknown man entered the store and loaded 30 cans of Baltimore Crab Meat into a black plastic bag. Then he walked through all points of sale without paying. The store has a video recording of the incident. The man is described as a black male, 5’-11,” 200 lbs., wearing a neon color shirt, blue pants and a black baseball cap. The total value of the theft is $700.
May 20. Theft on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. A Chestnut Hill Hospital employee stated that she placed her Apple EarPods in the desk of the front lobby area on May 14, at approximately 8:20 a.m., and when she returned on May 15 at 4:30 p.m., she found them missing.
May 25. Theft from vehicle on the 300 block of East Willow Grove Avenue at approximately 8:32 p.m. A woman told police that between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on May 25, someone stole the center piece of three of her hub caps on her red 2012 Hyundai Elantra.
Summary: Four crimes – three thefts and one theft from vehicle
