The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from April 1 to April 7, 2019.
April 1. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 1:56 p.m. An employee at the PA Wine and Spirits Shop told police that a woman entered the store and made a purchase at the counter. The customer then walked to the bathroom in the rear of the store. After she came out of the bathroom, the woman took a bottle of Grand Marnier off the shelf and walked out of the store without paying for it. The item is valued at $179.99.
April 1. Theft on the 8400 block of Seminole Avenue. A man told police he boarded the Chestnut Hill West Train at 30th Street and placed his zone 2 Trans pass on the seat in front of him. When he exited the train at the above location, it was gone.
April 4. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Northwestern Avenue. A woman told police that she parked her car on Northwestern Avenue and went for a walk in the park at approximately 12:30 p.m. She returned at 1:15 p.m. to find her rear driver side window broken and her black Coach purse stolen.
Summary: Three crimes for the week – two thefts and one theft from vehicle
