Judith Anne (Brewer) Campbell, 85, died on Nov. 9 in Lafayette Hill.

Campbell, the oldest of three children, was born to Walter Cranston (“Cran”) and Mary Elise Reily (“Bunny”) Brewer on Sept. 8, 1933. She lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia for most of her life and was married to Gordon Custis (“Gus”) Campbell (d. 2009) for 51 years.

Campbell was a mother of two and grandmother to nine. Throughout her life, Judy was a tireless volunteer for many organizations including The Philadelphia Zoo, Chestnut Hill Garden Club, Chestnut Hill Hospital and Germantown Academy. In 2001, she was awarded Chestnut Hill Healthcare Auxiliary’s Distinguished Service Award for her decades of volunteer service.

She loved to cook, and together with Gus, enjoyed hosting frequent cocktail and dinner parties. She was always ready to open her home to family and friends, and also to strangers, if they were in need. She also enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Stone Harbor, N.J. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Campbell, and by her daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen and Phil Seefried, as well as by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Judy is also survived by her beloved brother, John Curtis Brewer and his wife Nancy, and her sister, Alexandra Calves (n. Brewer).

A service was held at St. Martins-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church on Nov. 17. Donations can be made to The Outreachers, an organization Judy created to raise money to buy supplies for school children in need. The Outreachers of Whitemarsh; 4403 Briar Hill East, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444
