Crime Report: One burglary and five thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Nov. 12 to Nov. 18, 2018.

Nov. 13. Theft on the unit block of West Highland Avenue. A man told police that a package containing 10 generic batteries was delivered to him on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. by the U.S. postal service, but he never received the package. No video is available. The item is valued at $327.13.

Nov. 13. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 3:20 p.m. Store manager told police an unknown female between 31-35 years old took one bottle of Tito’s Vodka valued at $25.99 past all points of sale. She then fled southbound on Germantown Avenue.

Nov. 13. Theft on the unit block of West Evergreen. Between 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 13, unknown person(s) broke in through the roof of the ATM machine located in front of the bank. Nothing was reported taken at that time. NWDD were on the scene.

Nov. 13. Theft on the unit block of Bethlehem Avenue. Complainant stated between 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 13 an unknown person took 25 black 4’x8’ construction mats. The items are valued at $5,625.

Nov. 13. Theft on the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue. A woman told police she was working on Nov. 11 at the register when she stepped away for five minutes. When she returned the following items were taken : 1 tan and gold Louis Vuitton Bag ($700), $200 in cash, credit cards, birth certificates and keys. Credit cards were used at various businesses. The total value of items is $900.

Nov. 16. Burglary on the unit block of Hampton Road. A man told police he and his wife arrived home at 3 p.m. to discover an unknown (person) had entered their home by prying open the bathroom window on the first floor. The master bedroom on the second floor had been ransacked. The following items were taken: 1 Pearl necklace $800, 5-silver dishes $400, 5 Crystal Dishes $400, Assorted pair of earrings $300, 1 Indian Feather earring $200, 1 Turquoise ring $250, 1 pair of gold leaf earrings $85, Indian Shell Necklace $300, 3 silver rings $240, 3 pair of silver earrings $200, one gold animal necklace giraffe and an elephant $200 and other miscellaneous jewelry. Total value of items taken is approximately $5,955.00.

Summary: Six crimes for the week – one burglary and five thefts.
