Crime Report: One auto theft, two thefts from autos and two thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Nov. 5 to Nov. 11, 2018.

Nov. 5. Theft from vehicle on the 200 block of East Evergreen Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. A woman told police she parked her car on Evergreen Street when she returned the vehicle was gone. The 2015 Black Jeep Cherokee with PA license plate JDH-0228 is valued at $15,000.

Nov. 8. Theft on the 8400 block of Ardleigh Street. A woman told police that unknown packages were delivered to her location. On Nov. 7 at approximately 9:53 p.m., an unknown male was seen on her security camera taking the packages. The woman said she did not know what was in the packages.

Nov. 9. Theft from vehicle on the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane at approximately 11:30 a.m. A man told police he parked his car in front of his house located on the 200 block of East Mermaid Lane. He said sometime between 11 p.m. on Nov. 8 and 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 9, an unknown person went into his glove box, which was open. All his paperwork was on the seat. Nothing appeared to be missing. There was no damage to the vehicle.

Nov. 9. Theft on the 500 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. According to the police report, an unknown person removed three iPads from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. Security for the school said they did see an unknown male on the security camera at 5:30 p.m., and they did not know why he was in the building.

Nov. 9. Theft from vehicle on the 200 block of Hartwell Lane. A man told police he parked his car on Hartwell Lane and sometime between Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 1:54 p.m., an unknown person broke the front passenger side window. The man stated the person took $3 in change.

Summary: Five crimes for the week – One auto theft, two thefts from vehicles and two thefts.
