Crime Report: One auto theft and three thefts from autos

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 13 to Aug. 19, 2018.

Aug. 15. Theft from vehicle on the 8500 block of Ardleigh Street. The owner told police that sometime between Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 15 at 7 a.m., an unknown person removed all four tires from his vehicle without permission. The items are valued at $5,000.

Aug. 15. Theft from vehicle on the 200 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. A woman told police that at 8:30 a.m., she found a note on her car written by police. The note stated that the passenger door was left open and police closed and secured the door. One pair of Sunglasses are missing from the vehicle. The sunglasses are valued at $200.

Aug. 15. Theft from vehicle on the 600 block of St. Andrew Road. A woman told police that an unknown person entered her vehicle while it was unlocked. The offender removed the listed items: one black satchel with various personal items, paperwork, one bottle of prescription medication and $80 in cash. Some of the woman’s items were recovered by a neighbor. The items are valued at $150.

Aug. 19. Auto theft on the 8700 block of Shawnee Street. A woman told police she is visiting from Massachusetts and parked her vehicle at the above location on Aug. 18 at approximately 9:30 p.m. She returned this morning and discovered her 2018 Ford Escape missing. She left the following items in the car: paperwork, keys, wallet, driver’s license and credit cards. The vehicle is described as a 2018 Gray Ford Escape with MA plates 6ZM986. The vehicle is valued at $33,000.
