Crime report, Aug. 2: More reports of car break-ins

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from July 23 to July 29, 2018.

July 23. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 10 a.m. A woman working at the Children of America daycare told police that she put her purse on a high shelf while taking the children outside. When she came back inside, she noticed that a $50 bill was missing from her purse. Although the woman believes that one of her co-workers stole it, there are no cameras in that area of the daycare.

July 23. Three thefts from vehicles on the 460 block of West Chestnut Hill Avenue. Police responded to multiple vehicle break-ins. Report 1: A man told police that at some point between 3 p.m. on July 22 and 6 a.m. on July 23, an unknown person had entered and ransacked his two vehicles. Both vehicles were parked on his driveway and were left unlocked. An unknown amount of loose change was missing. Report 2: A woman told police that at some point from 2:30 to 7 a.m. on July 23, an unknown person had entered and ransacked her vehicle, leaving all four doors open. Approximately $10 in loose change had been taken. The vehicle was left unlocked. Report 3: A man told police that at some point between 7 p.m. on July 22 and 5:50 a.m. on July 23, an unknown person entered and ransacked his vehicle. Approximately $5 in loose change was taken from the vehicle.

July 25. Theft on the 8000 block of Crittenden Street at approximately 8 a.m.. A woman told police that unknown persons entered her yard and removed a large pot filled with dirt and flowers, which is valued at $50.

July 29. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of West Moreland Avenue. A woman told police that she parked her car at 9 p.m. on July 28 and noticed that all four of her tires were missing by 11 a.m. on July 29. The tires are valued at approximately $1,200.
