Knocked over street light causes closure on Stenton Avenue

Posted

Thanks to a traffic accident early this morning, part of Stenton Avenue has been blocked off due to a street light that has been knocked off of its base. PECO technicians have closed off about a half mile of Stenton from Bethlehem Pike to Summit Street. PECO initially received a call about the street light at 7:20 a.m., as technicians were sent out shortly after. The Philadelphia Police Department does not have any record of the accident, indicating that there were likely no injuries reported after the crash. A PECO representative confirmed that the blocked off section of Stenton would likely remain closed through the afternoon. While there is no specific estimation as to when the road would open back up fully, work is expected to be done by the end of the day.
