Crime Report: One auto theft, one theft from vehicle and three thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from May 14 to May 20.

May 15. Theft on unit block of East Chestnut Hill Avenue at approximately 1:13 p.m. A woman told police that she left her purse unattended for several minutes. When she returned to the table, her wallet was missing from her purse. The following items were taken: one wallet containing $60 in cash, a driver’s license, United Mileage credit card, American Advantage credit card and a blank TD bank check. A credit card was also reported used.

May 16. Theft from vehicle on the 7700 block of Crittenden St. A woman told police that she parked her 2016 White KIA Optima at the listed location on May 15 at 7 p.m. When she returned on May 16 around 12:30 p.m., she discovered the vehicle had been ransacked and $700 in cash missing from her purse.

May 16. Auto theft on the 200 block of Willow Grove Avenue. A woman told police that she parked a 1997 Honda CRV on the 200 block of Willow Grove Avenue on May 15 at approximately 9:30 p.m. When she returned, the vehicle was gone. The item is valued at $1,000.

May 16. Theft on the 7700 block of Crittenden St. A woman told police she had dinner at the listed location at approximately 7 p.m. and left her purse there. When she returned, the purse was gone. Taken was one black purse containing PA ID., American Heritage, Police and Fire Credit Card, 2 Barclay Master Cards, City Bank Visa, Boscov’s credit card, Sam’s club credit card, PNC debit card, 2 Kohl’s credit cards, HSN credit card, Macy’s credit card, T.J. Max credit card, and $20 in cash. The items are valued at $250.

May 16. Theft on the 100 block of West Highland Avenue. A woman told police she hired a woman for her business and that she has a MacBook with a case and a company PNC credit card in her possession. The woman called the former employee on May 1 around noon to retrieve the business items. The woman told her she is sick. Now, the business owner told police, she has lost contact with the former employee and needs the items to run her business. The total value of all the items is $1,500.
