The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from Nov. 13 to Nov. 19, 2017.
Nov. 13. Theft from vehicle on the 8100 block of Germantown at approximately 7 p.m. A man told police that a neighbor told him an unknown person took four tires off his vehicle. The neighbor told the owner he found the vehicle on cinder blocks on the unit block of Abington, even though the owner parked the vehicle on Germantown Avenue. The items are valued at $400.
Nov. 15. Theft from vehicle on the 400 block of West Willow Grove Avenue. A man told police that an unknown person took a Microsoft surface pro 4, serial #49408361353, valued at $2,500 from his vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. on Nov. 14. The owner told police as he was approaching the vehicle, he observed his interior light on and an employee from the Cricket Club standing close to his vehicle. The employee stated that he did not take anything from his vehicle and he did not see anyone near the vehicle.
Nov. 17. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Bethlehem Pike. The owner of the business said she has been having ongoing issues with theft from an employee. The owner stated that on Nov. 16 at approximately 5 p.m., the offender took two zip top envelopes containing $5,000 and the spare keys to her business, as well as $200 from her wallet that was inside her vehicle. The owner told police the employee had access to her keys and knew she kept cash in her car. The owner also stated that the male parking lot attendant had access to her vehicle while the trunk was open. The owner is in the process of obtaining the security footage. The items are valued at $5, 200.
Nov. 18. Theft from building on the 500 block of West Willow Grove Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. on Nov. 17. A woman told police that while she was skating at the Wissahickon Skating Club an unknown person went inside her bag and took her Rose Gold iPhone 6S. The item is valued at $600. She found her bag on the floor in the locker room.
Summary: Four crimes – three theft from vehicles and one theft
