Crime Report: One Theft

The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 13 to Aug. 19, 2017.

Aug. 16. Theft on the 8700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. The manager at PA Wine & Spirits Store said a man entered the store and concealed one 5th size bottle 1800 Tequila in his backpack. The man exited the store without paying for the alcohol. The man walked towards Germantown Avenue. Officer recognized offender from surveillance tape. The man is a repeat retail theft offender at the store and Brewers Outlet in Mt. Airy.

Last week's issue erroneously stated that the Community Crime Meeting for Police Sector 4, which covers Chestnut Hill and parts of Mt. Airy, would be held on Friday, Aug. 18. It should have said it would be held on Wednesday, Aug. 16. According to the Philadelphia Police Department's website the next meeting PSA 4 will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
