Two coaches’ clinics sponsored by CHYSA will be held Saturdays July 15 and 22 from 9-10:30 a.m. The location is at Carson Valley fields. Any person age 17 or older who is interested in being a successful coach is invited to attend. The clinics are sponsored by CHYSA and are free of charge. You need not have soccer experience. Novice or experienced, travel or intramural, all attendees will come away with soccer knowledge they can immediately use in coaching children and have a better understanding of the game.
These two clinics will emphasize passing, both the giving and receiving techniques; after understanding the technique involved, attendees will be introduced to using the pass to build team efficiency. Attendees should bring a ball, cleats, a dark shirt and a light-colored shirt. Shin guards are not necessary.
The clinics will be given by JR Schroeder. JR in the Club’s Director of Coaching. He has 47 years of playing and coaching experience. He began his career as a PA all-state player and played four years at the University of Pennsylvania. He has coached at Lafayette College and Gwynedd Mercy University. He played and coached for many years at the UGH and Phoenix clubs. He currently plays for Norwich Red in the Bucks Adult Soccer League and won his 4th title in 5 years last weekend.
JR says, “I have a life time passion for the Beautiful Game and look forward to sharing my experience for what makes a successful coach at the youth level.”
