The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from June 4 to June 10, 2017.
June 4. Theft on the 100 block of Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. on June 3. The owner told police that an unknown person took copper gutter spouts from the outside of her home. The items are valued at $600.
June 4. Theft from the 7700 block of Crittenden Street at approximately 7:15 p.m. The owner said he left his bicycle unsecured at the Acme grocery store. When he returned, the bike was not there. His friend also had his bike stolen. The following items were stolen: one tan and grey Schwinn bike with a basket and one blue and grey Samarco bike. The items are valued at $1,300.
June 10. Theft on the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 4 p.m. An employee at the Farmer's Market told police that an unknown person took three tip jars containing approximately $200 from three different counters located throughout the market.
June 10. Burglary on the unit block of West Gravers Lane. Owner told police that on June 9 at approximately 11:02 p.m., he heard a noise coming from downstairs in the living room area and saw a light from a flashlight. Then, he yelled “Hey” downstairs and the unknown person fled out the rear of the location. One Martin wood finish steel string acoustic guitar valued at $1,000 was stolen.
Summary: Four crimes for the week – One burglary and three thefts.
