The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from May 7 to May 13, 2017.

May 9. Theft on the 8200 block of Germantown on May 4 at approximately 5:19 p.m. A woman told police that she hired a Lyft driver to drop her off on the 8200 block of Germantown Avenue. The woman said she left her Samsung J3 Duo in the vehicle. The woman contacted the company and the driver. The driver told her he did have her phone and would return it, but did not. The woman said the driver stopped corresponding with her and with Lyft. The item is valued at $243.

May 9. Theft on the 500 block of West Telner Street at approximately 8 p.m. A man told police he was away on vacation from April 24 to May 4. When he returned home. he noticed that someone had removed five copper drain spouts from the side of his house. There were no surveillance cameras on the exterior of the house. The items are valued at $1,000.

May 10. Theft on the 400 block of W. Springfield Lane at approximately 9:40 a.m. No other information is available as of publication time.

May 11. Theft from vehicle on the 400 block of Chestnut Hill at approximately 12:57 p.m. No other information is available as of publication time.

May 12. Theft on the 8000 block of St. Martins Lane at approximately 12:15 p.m. A man told police that his bike ( a light blue giant road bike, serial # C5403571) was stolen from the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue on April 30 at approximately 1 p.m. The man said he did not make a police report because he did not think he was going to get it back. However, the bike, which is valued at $400, was recovered by police on May 4 in connection to a burglary. The bike was returned to the owner.

Summary: Five crimes – four thefts and one theft from vehicle
