The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill between May 15 – May 21.
May 18. Theft. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street, the manager of Radio Shack told police that an unknown man entered the store, zipped his hood up over his head and grabbed the following items off a display: two iPads, three iPhones and three Samsung Galaxy Phones valued at $4,202. The man then fled towards Mermaid Lane.
May 18. Theft. The owner of a jewelry store on the 7900 block of Germantown Avenue told police that on May 13 at approximately 3 p.m., two unknown men entered the store and separated to browse items. After the men left, the owner found a sterling silver triangle- shaped moon ring missing from a display case on the counter close to where one man was standing. The ring is valued at $110.
May 22. Theft from vehicle. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of Crittenden Avenue, a man told police that his front passenger window was broken. No items were reported missing. Also, at this location, a woman told police that an unknown person broke her front passenger window and took $4 from her vehicle.
May 22. Theft from vehicle- At approximately 8:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of Crittenden Avenue, a woman told police that her front window was broken. Paperwork was scattered on seat. No items were reported missing.
May 22. Theft from vehicle. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of Crittenden Avenue, a woman told police that her front passenger side window was broken. Paperwork and CDs were scattered on the front seat. Taken was $1 in cash.
Summary: Five crimes for the the week – Three Thefts from vehicles and two thefts.
