According to police records, a 21-year-old man attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank, 8527 Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill, on Monday, May 23, at approximately 9:57 a.m. by handing the teller a demand note.
Police arrested Sakie Smith, of the 5400 block of Walnut Street, after a brief foot pursuit through neighborhood yards on Stenton Avenue between Evergreen and Summit.
He was charged with robbery, terroristic threats and related offenses.
