Crime Report: Four thefts

The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill between April 24 – April 30.

April 25. Theft on the 9200 block of Germantown Ave. A man told police at approximately 8:10 p.m. that an unknown person stole his Pennsylvania license plate HLH-6179 from his green 2003 Buick Lesabre. Valued at $36.

April 27. Theft on the 8400 Germantown Avenue at approximately 4:39 p.m. Police observed an African-American man, between 41 and 45 years old, approximately 5' 5,” 150 lbs, with a blond streak in his hair, wearing a gray pullover hoody, walking Southbound on the 8300 block of Germantown Ave., pulling a metal shopping cart full of rakes. Police recognized the items as similar to one displayed outside Kilian Hard Store, and the man also fit the description of thief who stole items from the Chestnut Hill Sports store earlier that day. The total value of items taken from the hardware store were approximately $150.

April 27. Theft on the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue. The owner told police that a bystander observed a unknown African-American male, approximately 5'3” with a thin build, wearing a grey sweatshirt take three T-shirts and one Phillies hooded shirt. The bystander added that the unknown male has a blonde streak in his hair. The owner recovered the items valued at approximately $150 from the unknown male at the corner of Germantown and Evergreen Avenues. The theft was captured on store video.

April 28. Theft on the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue. A man told police two unknown females stole a pair of blue sweatpants and one pair of black sweatpants valued at $90. The theft was captured on store video.
