A menorah. A menorah.

Chabad of Northwest Philadelphia will be hosting two events in celebration of Chanukah: A ‘Chanukah Extravaganza’ on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and an outdoor menorah lighting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Both events are offered free of charge.

The Chanukah Extravaganza, featuring fun holiday crafts, including sand art and cookie baking, will take place at the Moving Arts Studio at 6819 Greene St. in Mt. Airy, on Sunday, December 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., the menorah will be lit, and latkes and ‘gelt’ will be served. Both children and adults are welcome to stop in and celebrate the holiday with an activity or craft they can take home.

An outdoor menorah lighting celebration will take place on Monday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m., at the Chestnut Hill Plaza, on Germantown Avenue near Cresheim Valley Drive. The Menorah will be lit with Chanukah spirit and song, and hot latkes, apple cider and chocolate gelt will be served. All are welcome to join in the festivities celebrating the holiday.
