The annual, Mt.Airy Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll will return on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fifty of the region’s top food trucks and local restaurants will present sweet, salty and savory plates, plus cold sips, on Germantown Avenue (between Sedgwick Street and W. Mt. Airy Avenue).

Children and adults of all ages will enjoy free activities and entertainment, artisanal crafts, and live music from School of Rock, ReLive, Hennessey Bonfire, Bethlehem & Sad Patrick, Philly Bloco and The Band Sheep. Last year the event attracted more than 15,000 hungry attendees, the largest audience ever.

“The night of Street Fare, Germantown Avenue is filled with an incomparable energy,” said Commercial Corridor Revitalization and Business Association Manager Jamie Shanker. “We know our neighbors and businesses are looking forward to being a part of the excitement again! We’re thrilled to be able to bring the event back to Germantown Avenue this year and for another opportunity to showcase our vibrant community to thousands of hungry visitors.”

Street Fare will pair award-winning mobile food vendors with notable local restaurants for a night of street eats, craft brews, handcrafted cocktails and wine. Vending spaces long sold out with a waiting list in place for the popular event. (For a list of food trucks, see end of article)

Families can play or relax inside the gated Family Activity Zone outside of Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Mt. Pleasant Ave, between 6 and 8 p.m. There will be an open play and hang out area on the grass along with tables of free activities.

Mt. Airy-based Kadillac Tattoo will offer specially designed and local-themed temporary tattoos just for Street Fare. Culture Hair Studio will have colorful hair chalk on hand, and will create braids and other kid-friendly hairstyles. Other family fun will include balloon art from Fun with Balloons, arts and crafts from Mary’s Learning Academy, plus free chair massages from Mellow Massage Therapy Center.

As you stroll along historic Germantown Avenue, treat yourself to an artisanal craft at the tables organized by Renaissance Craftables. Enjoy a serenade by local musician Adrienne Knauer, who will be playing her harp.

For more live music, two stages with performances all night will keep you dancing in between bites.

Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll is presented by Mt. Airy USA, with support from the City of Philadelphia Commerce Department, Penn Medicine Chestnut Hill, Rapid Recovery at Caring Heart Rehabilitation and Nursing, East River Bank, PFCU, Electrical Wizardry and Mid Atlantic FX and others. Thank you also to promotional partners Weavers Way Co-op, MilkCrate, WHERE Magazine and Aversa PR & Events.
