Crime Report: 1 arrest, 1 burglary, 3 theft

The following crimes are from the week of Aug. 30 to Sept. 5

Aug. 31. 8300 block of Germantown Ave. A women told police she noticed the lock on the closet in the 2nd floor office was damaged and open around 10:30 p.m. Closet contained cashier drawers for the bar. $4,500 in cash was taken. Entry was made through the rear kitchen door.

Aug. 31. 8500 Navajo Street. Owner told police at approximately 8:48 a.m., he discovered the passenger side window of his 2004 Lexus broken. He returned home from vacation to find coins missing from the center console of the vehicle. Valued at $10.

Aug. 31. Unit block of Benezet Street. Owner told police that an unknown person entered her 2015 Toyota Highlander and took $15 in change from the ashtray. She said all the contents from the glovebox were thrown on the floor. Suspect entered through an unlocked door.

Aug. 31. 7700 Germantown Avenue. Employee told police at approximately 1:22 p.m., a man walked into the CVS and removed several items valued between $50 – $199. Thomas Hughes, 55, of the 200 block of Institution Drive was arrested in relation to this incident.

Sept. 3. 8700 block of Shawnee Street. At approximately 7:14 p.m., owner told police that an unknown person took his green Navarro mountain bike from the rear of his property. Valued at $1000.

Summary – four crimes for the week.
