Vincent G. Marano Jr., 88, a co-owner and manager of the former Caruso's Market in Chestnut Hill, died May 15 at his home in Wynnewood.

Mr. Marano had operated his family's grocery store until shortly before the business was sold in 2008.

Born in Chestnut Hill, the son of Vincent G. Marano and Antoinette Caruso, he was a graduate of Lower Merion High School.

Mr. Marano had lived for many years in Narberth with his wife, the late Marion F. Marano, while raising a family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and spending time in Ocean City, N.J.

He is survived by a daughter, Marian Vallotton; sons Vincent G. III and Howard Marano; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on May 21 at St. Margaret's Church in Narberth, with interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 330 S. Ninth St., 3rd floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107. – WF
