Chestnut Hill Film Group's ongoing series, “Tuesday Nights at the Movies,” will conclude on April 21 with the 1979 thriller “The China Syndrome.”
While visiting a nuclear power plant, a news reporter and her cameraman uncover a vast array of safety hazard cover-ups.
Directed by James Bridges, the film stars Jane Fonda, Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas. The film was nominated for four Oscars at the 1980 Academy Awards: Best Writing; Best Art Direction; Jack Lemmon for Best Actor; and Jane Fonda for Best Actress. It currently has an 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Woodmere Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is free, although donations are recommended.
