A big thank you to Bowman Properties

Brendas Cat Rescue is overwhelmed by the warm and positive response to our presence at 8514 Germantown Ave. and wants to thank pet-friendly Bowman Properties for this space, the Chestnut Hill Community, our volunteers and our adopters.

Since February, we've had almost 1,400 visitors, 40 adoptions and 30 recoveries for Trap-Neuter-Returns of feral cats. We've had children and adult programs designed to educate and teach compassion for animals, and we've held two winter shelter-building workshops to help cats survive this winter.

Each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., we are available to introduce our wonderful rescues to the public, to answer questions and distribute educational materials.

We need volunteers, especially during the day, to help with cat maintenance. We need foster homes, dry and wet food (our wish-list is on the door), donations and especially adoptions.

With kitten season now in full swing, we're filling our cages as fast as our cats/kittens find their “furever” homes. (Please note that we do not take surrendered pets).

Pawsitively grateful,

Brenda Malinics

Shout out to Baker Street for funds

I'd like to thank Baker Street for sponsoring “Raising Dough for Neighbors Day” on Saturday, March 28. A portion of the day's sales from the event will go into a scholarship fund that has been set up for my nephew Jack Lyons' son Ryley.

Thank you to everyone for coming out in support of our boy, Ryley.
