This past weekend, the seventh- and eighth-grade Drama Club at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy treated crowds to two performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.”
Based on the beloved Hans Christian Anderson story and adapted from the 2008 Broadway production, students lit up the Sister James Anthony Hall stage with the timeless tale. Songs such as “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World” captured the hearts and imaginations of audience members, both young and old.
The show, under the direction of Kim Williams, who is also known for her productions at La Salle College High School and Archbishop Ryan High School, included 33 cast members and eight stage and technical crew members.
“This year’s Drama Club company had extraordinary talent, and they captured wonderfully the message of the story,” Williams said. “They performed with such joy and energy.”
