The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named six Germantown Friends School seniors as National Merit Finalists, an honor they share with 15,000 other twelfth-graders nationwide.
Established in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship Program honors the nation's scholastic champions and encourages the pursuit of academic excellence.
The students will now compete for 8,000 National Merit Scholarships, worth approximately $35 million, which will be awarded in the spring.
