Robert H. Hemberger, business owner

Robert H. Hemberger, 92, formerly of Chestnut Hill, co-owner of a heating oil business, died Nov. 14 of a heart attack at Chestnut Hill Hospital. Mr. Hemberger had been living at The Hill at Whitemarsh for the past five years.

Mr. Hemberger was co-owner with his brother Carl of Home Heat Inc., a Plymouth Meeting heating oil and furnace sales and service company, until he retired from the business in the 1970s. He had also owned and operated the Flourtown Swim Club for many years.

He was a graduate of La Salle College High School and the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, the former Joanne Grebe, and a sister, Mildred Hemberger. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Hemberger, and sisters Ruth H. Siegfried, Loretta H. McCorristin, Dorothy H. Schillow and Marie Hemberger.

A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill.
