The Chestnut Hill Business District will host Pennsylvania Ballet Day in Chestnut Hill in partnership with Carol Schwartz Gallery and the Pennsylvania Ballet on Saturday, Nov. 15, from noon to 3 p.m.
Ballet dancers will be in Chestnut Hill signing autographs at the Market at the Fareway, 8229 Germantown Ave., and Carol Schwartz Gallery, 101 Bethlehem Pike. And, don’t miss the visits from “The Nutcracker’s” Sugarplum Fairy and the Mouse King.
The event coincides with the premiere Philadelphia Exhibition of Jordan Matter Fine Art Photography, free and open to the public, at the Carol Schwartz Gallery from Nov. 1 to Dec. 30. The gallery will host an opening reception and book signing on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $100 and benefit the Pennsylvania Ballet. Pennsylvania Ballet Day in Chestnut Hill will also include a “Ballet Scavenger Hunt” for children at participating shops and restaurants along Germantown Avenue. and Bethlehem Pike. Children will visit each of the participating shops to have a card stamped and enter to win a grand prize of four tickets to the Pennsylvania Ballet’s annual production of George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker” at the Academy of Music on the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia. Second and third place winners will receive a variety of goodies from Chestnut Hill neighborhood shops.
