For the fifth consecutive year Historic Germantown and Mt. Airy Learning Tree are teaming up to open the doors of some of the area’s most historic and notable private homes.

This year’s tour - Authentic History and Unique Style – features six pre-1926 homes from Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy and Germantown. Architects represented include George & William Hewitt, Hazelhurst & Huckel, Mantle Fielding, Huger Elliott and Louis Sauer.

The tour will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The houses were built between 1883 and 1926. Each home has a rich history and unique features that represent the history of our city, our neighborhoods and our culture. This tour will be the first opportunity visitors will have to see firsthand the history, the artistry and the legacy of these historic homes in our area.

The Old German Township House Tour is curated and researched by Historic Germantown. Proceeds from the tour will benefit Historic Germantown, a partnership of 16 extraordinary historical houses, destinations and museums in Northwest Philadelphia and the Mt. Airy Learning Tree, a community service organization founded in 1980 to enrich Mt. Airy and the broader Northwest Philadelphia Community.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day and are available by calling 215-843-6333, or by visiting mtairylearningtree.org/historic-house-tour or on the day of at the Mount Airy Learning Tree, 6601 Greene St.
