The following crimes are from the week of August 17 to August 23, 2014.

Aug. 19. Unit block E. Springfield Avenue. Complainant states that when they arrived home at 10 p.m. they noticed dining room patio door open. Police did a walk through and found kitchen screen window cut and smear marks on window. Taken was a 2 carat diamond earring, gold charm bracelets, money and safe with paperwork.

Aug. 19. 100 block Rex Avenue. Complainant states he was jogging on Rex Avenue when he was approached by a black vehicle, possibly a Subaru Outback, and a black male jumped out of right rear passenger side door holding what looked like a black 9 mm handgun. Man stated, “Give me your money.” A second black male got out of passenger side of vehicle. Both males jumped back into SUV and drove westbound on Rex, then made a left on Crefeld and drove back to Germantown Ave.

Aug. 19. 8800 block Germantown Avenue. An unknown person stole phone from desk and ran out of hospital going westbound on Germantown Ave.

Aug. 19. 200 block E. Hartwell Lane. Complainant was outside Water Tower basketball court and left his Apple iPhone5 in a black case underneath his clothing. Phone was taken to E. Willow Grove Avenue before being turned off.

Aug. 21. 500 block W. Willow Grove Avenue. Complainant states that an unknown person removed her phone from gym bag while she was at camp.

Aug. 22. 7800 block Devon Street. Complainant states that between 11 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 22, an unknown person broke into car and stole coins from a 2003 Nissan Maxima.

Aug. 23. 100 block E. Evergreen Avenue. Between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., an unknown person stole a black 1999 Subaru Forester, Pennsylvania tag DWJ 5876.

Summary – Seven crimes for week.
