Police seek suspect in attempted robbery of Hill Wells Fargo Bank branch

The FBI and Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who attempted to rob  Wells Fargo Bank in Chestnut Hill.

On June 2, at 2:15 p.m., a man entered the the bank, 8527 Germantown Ave., and handed a teller a note demanding money, according to police.

After a failed attempt at obtaining money the man fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

He is described as a white male in his 50s or 60s, 5 feet 10 inches, heavy build, wearing a light blue shirt, a dark jacket, sunglasses, and yellow or tan work gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department or the FBI at 215-418-4000. There may be an award for information leading to this man's arrest and tipsters can remain anonymous.
