Chestnut Hill Film Group's 'Tuesday Nights at the Movies' continues on March 25 with the 1963 Italian film “The Fiances.”
In Milan, a talented factory worker is offered a promotion if he is willing to move to Sicily for 18 months to help jump-start a new department. His impending departure causes tension with his fiancée and leaves them both wondering if a long distance relationship is even possible.
Directed by Ermanno Olmi, the film stars Carlo Cabrini and Anna Canzi. It was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival.
The film will be screened with English subtitles. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Woodmere Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is free, although donations are recommended.
