Fog Over Frisco

Next up for Chestnut Hill Film Group's Tuesday Nights at the Movies is the 1934 mystery-thriller “Fog Over Frisco.”

The film follows a woman from high society who has been spoiled rotten by her wealthy father. She thinks she's above the law. She disregards the consequences of her irresponsible actions and doesn't care that the circles she's traveling in are wrought with shady characters. Soon her fiancé, an investment broker, is dragged into a stolen-bond racket, which entangles him with thugs and one notorious local gangster. When she involves her half-sister in her dangerous antics, the lives of everyone close to her are threatened.

Directed by William Dieterle, the film stars Bette Davis, Donald Woods, Margaret Lindsay and Lyle Talbot.

The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Woodmere Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is free, although donations are recommended.
