Caroling on the Avenue. Caroling on the Avenue.

Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays to all, In the midst of our annual Chestnut Hill Community Fund Drive I’d like to thank the hundreds of you who have made a donation to the cause. Our goal is $100,000 by March 31 of 2014, and during the first 12 weeks your contributions have topped $40,000 – a very excellent showing indeed.

If you’d like to take advantage of your donation’s charitable deduction this year, please remember to date your checks in December or date your checks for January to apply the deductible in 2014. The best part of donating to the Chestnut Hill Community Fund is that your dollars are collected and redistributed to many small, deserving non profits throughout Northwest Philadelphia. This not only benefits the missions of these organizations, it also stabilizes and strengthens all of the Northwest. So it’s a win-win-win: You make a donation and receive a tax deduction, many small organizations get to continue their fine work and you make your own neighborhoods stronger.

As I’ve said before, by giving to others we enrich ourselves more than we can imagine. So, in that spirit, The Chestnut Hill Community Fund asks for your gift in order to continue supporting these excellent non profit organizations that help maintain our quality of life here in Chestnut Hill and beyond. Please open your hearts and give to the CHCF by mail or in person at 8434 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia 19118 or go online to www.chestnuthill.org, or call Noreen at 215-248-8810. Thank you and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.
