The Philadelphia Streets Department today announced that the Philly Future Track program is now accepting applications for its new class, which will officially begin on Monday, October 14. Applications for the program are available at www.philadelphiastreets.com/philly-future-track.aspx.

Once completed, applications must be submitted at the Philly Future Track drop box located in the first floor lobby of the Municipal Services Building (1401 JFK Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19102 – across from City Hall). All completed applications must be submitted by September 3, 6 p.m.

Philly Future Track is a six-month program that provides job-skill training and real-world work experience to Philadelphia young adults. To qualify, applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be a Philadelphia resident. Applicants are encouraged to be between the ages of 18 and 24 in order to maximize program benefits.

Program participants will work in teams to clean and beautify Philadelphia’s streets, while attending regular sessions to improve their job prospects for the future. The program is designed to be a career readiness pipeline, providing the participants with enough resources and education to transition into full time employment, attend a two or for year higher education institution, enter into a vocational training program/school or be prepared to take the military aptitude test.

Philly Future Track is made possible by the partnerships of several city and community organizations. The City of Philadelphia, Department of Streets, Community Women’s Education Project (CWEP) and Community Marketing Concepts are all investing in the futures of both Philadelphia’s young adult population and the City of Philadelphia as a whole.
